–After recovering from achilles injury
Millwall manager Ian Holloway believes that “supreme leader” Danny Shittu will be able to play “every minute of every game” for the club over Christmas.
Shittu, who this week said he “feels 22 again” after fully recovering from a torn achilles, has discussed the Lions’ festive fixture list with Holloway.
And Holloway says the Nigerian player will be able to handle the busy run of games leading into the New Year.
“We have spoken about Christmas and he’s totally determined to see each game through,” said the Millwall boss.
“I’m delighted because I believe he can do that now.
“We need him, the crowd needs him and the players need him. I’m totally sure that I’m safe to play him for every minute of every game now.
“Danny is just Danny and that’s what we’ve been missing. I was worried he’d hurt his calf against Brighton but luckily it was only cramp.
“I believe he’s getting better and better every day. We were lucky to stay up without him last season.
“He is our supreme leader – everyone seems to follow him. And if you need someone to win the ball in the air, it’s him all day long.
“You could see what beating Brighton means to him because he is the epitome of Millwall and the fans love him.
“I’ve been careful with him to make sure I don’t damage him long-term in any way. He’s getting there gradually.
“He’s a different unit to anyone else on the planet and now he only gets cramp instead of re-injured. He’s coming along.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
