—Eagles assistant coach rates final higher than 2010 edition
Super Eagles assistant coach, Ike Shorunmu has posited that Germany duly deserved their triumph in Sunday night’s FIFA World Cup final 1-0 win over South American giants, Argentina.
“It was a very difficult match of equal contest. The two sides, I mean Argentina and Germany kept every spectator and even those watching from their TV sets around the world on their toes.
I must say that Germany had that touch of luck and I would say they deserved their victory”, Shorunmu, a former Super Eagles goalkeeper said.
The former Bekistas of Turkey shot-stopper praised the two finalists for raising the bar on the quality of the World Cup final match, stressing it was higher in terms of standard compared to the South Africa 2010 final clash between Spain and Holland.
“It was a befitting final and the two teams gave fans much to cheer. The standard was very high and if you ask me, I would say, yes, the Brazil 2014 World Cup final was higher than that of South Africa 2010..
