Siasia: Iheanacho Is An Asset

–Ex-Eagles coach advises Man City forward

Former Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has described Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho as an asset to Nigeria, saying he was confident that the former Golden Eaglets player will soon make it to the Super Eagles if he remains focused in his career.

Iheanacho who is currently in the United States of America where Manchester City are using as their pre-season camping, has been hailed by the English Premier League side’s coach Manuel Pellegrini following his impressive performance since the team kicked off their pre-season.

Speaking to Complete Sports about the youngster, Sisaia said he was impressed that the player has not disappointed since he took the decision to join the club after his performance at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

“This is a young player and I am happy with the report we are reading about him and that has showed that Nigeria is blessed with talents that can shake the world. Many thought it was a wrong decision for him to move to City but with what he is doing now and the comment of the coach, I think he has a future there”, says Siasia

“He should not see himself as somebody who has arrived, he still needs to humble himself and remain focus. He also needs to show the readiness to learn from other big players in the team and with time, I am sure he will make it to the national team. I think he will be a big asset to Nigeria.

Iheanacho, it would be recalled was a member of the last Golden Eaglets set that won gold in the UAE before pitching his tent with the English Premier League side shortly after.
