Siasia Picks Awoniyi, Osimhen, 18 Others For Brazil U-23 Friendly

Samson Siasia has selected 20 players for the friendly between Nigeria U-23s and Brazil U-23s billed for Thursday next week at the Kleber Andrade Stadium in Vitoria, Brazil.

Thenff.com says there are nine home-based players in the list with the other 11 based abroad.

FIFA U-17 World Cup all-time top scorer Victor Osimhen, Germany-based Taiwo Awoniyi and Tunisia-based Junior Ajayi are all included in the squad, along with Anderlecht forward Imoh Ezekiel.

Midfielder Usman Mohammed and forward Bright Onyedikachi were knocked out by visa issues as both players submitted their passports late, while left-back Chima Akas was dropped because he travelled with his club, Enyimba Football Club, for a CAF Champions League tie in Burundi.

I tink Siasia has too many responsibities and hope he doesn't loose focus. Another coach should have been the responsibility of acting Super Eagles coach when Oliseh chickened out.

  • Watch out for Theophilus Solomon, you guys will be amazed. He is the next big thing!
