–Ahead of All Africa Games qualifiers
The National U-23 Eagles may camp in Turkey to prepare for their All Africa Games qualifier against Gabon.
Complete Sports gathered that the Chief Coach of the team, Samson Siasia has submitted a proposal to the Nigeria Football Federation for the team to camp in Turkey before jetting out to play Gabon for the qualifier.
According to a source in the NFF Siasia’s reason for wanting the team to train outside the country was to avoid distractions from the families, friends and their clubs.
Our source also disclosed that Siasia also fears that the forth coming elections might also affect the team’s preparation stressing that the NFF will give the proposal a good thought.
Meanwhile, the former Flying Eagles coach has revealed the difficulties he faced in reducing the size of the team to the numbers presently in camp in Abuja.
He stated that he is building a squad that will not only qualify for the All African Games and Olympic Games but to play the kind of football that Nigerians will be proud of.
