–Nigeria Olympic team coach confesses
Newly appointed Nigeria U-23 team coach, Samson Siasia has confessed his return to the job he last handled in 2008 is a tasking assignment.
“There are a lot of challenges when it comes to trying to get things done especially, screenings. It’s a long process and from what I have been told, the first game is in February and that isn’t too far, we even haven’t started anything,” Siasia said.
“It’s a very difficult job but with hard work, I think we could get it done. What we have now is like a rush-rush thing, trying to get the players that we believe can help us play the first few matches.”
Siasia admitted its difficult harnessing the talents of young players especially at the U-23 level.
“U-23 team is more or less a semi senior national team, it could be difficult getting the players and now time is not on our side.
“This country is blessed with a lot of talents, so we’ll try our best, working hard to get the job done. I’ve been through it before and hopefully we’ll get it done”, Siasia said.
