–Promises team will work hard on Sunday
By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
Chief Coach of Dream Team-Six, Samson Siasia has vowed that Zambia cannot stop his dream from qualifying for the 11th All Africa Games in Congo later this year.
Speaking in a media chat in Abuja yesterday, the former Super Eagles handler said though he knows nothing about the Zambians, he is confident the Nigeria U-23 team will deliver the ticket over two legs.
“The game is very important to our qualification so we shall give it our best shot. We just have to score plenty of goals and defend very well to stop them from scoring so that the second leg in Lusaka will be just formality. I don’t know the Zambians but we shall know them after the first 15 minutes and plot how to stop them”, says Siasia.
“I don’t see them eliminating us because we are focused and preparing very well to progress. We have to qualify first and after that set an agenda of how to win gold in Congo. I don’t fear them and I am not under any pressure to win gold now but to qualify for AAG” he stated.
He said that if the boys play to instruction by getting the goals and defending well, Nigeria will win well on Sunday and get the result that will be enough to secure the AAG ticket.
But the former Super Eagles gaffer is optimistic that the team he is building will turn out to be the future of national senior team, adding that the team is gradually getting to where he wants them to be.
