The Nigeria U-23 national team, coached by Samson Siasia, arrived in Port Hacourt on Monday ahead of their final round, first leg qualifier for the African U-23 Championship against Congo on July 19.
According to thenff.com, the delegation was warmly received by the Chairman of the local organizing committee for the match, Boma Iyayi, on arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
Players and officials were immediately driven to Hotel Presidential, where accommodation had been reserved for them.
Nigeria and Congo will battle for one of the eight slots at the 2nd African U-23 Championship, taking place in Senegal which will hold from 28 November to 11 December, 2015.
The top three teams at the competition will qualify for the Men's Football Tournament of next year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, while the fourth -placed team plays off against an Asian side.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian team have already qualified for thi year's All Africa Games billed for Brazzaville, Congo.
They defeated Zambia 2-1 on aggregate to secure qualification.
