Super Eagles winger Moses Simon scored a first half brace for Gent who kicked off their Belgian league title play-off run with a 2-1 win over Club Brugge on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Nigerian international ended his 15-match goal drought in an encounter that saw 11 yellow cards and a red card issued.
William Troost-Ekong, making his third appearance for Gent, was sent off in the 52nd minute of the game.
Wesley Ja gave the visitors Club Brugge the lead in the eighth minute but Simon restored parity in the 25th minute.
The 23-year-old then sealed the win for the hosts on the stroke of half time from the spot for his fifth goal of the season for the Buffaloes.
