Manager Claude Puel admits he is at a loss as to why Leicester are conceding so many early goals this season. The Foxes sit 10th in the Premier League standings but have been shooting themselves in the foot by having to play catch-up far too many times this term.
City conceded the opening goal inside the first 10 minutes against Everton on Saturday – the fourth time it has happened in eight league games.
They managed to get back on level terms but Gylfi Sigurdsson’s stunning second-half strike saw the points travel to Merseyside.
Puel’s side conceded after five minutes on the opening day at Old Trafford, while they were behind in the 10th minute at home to Liverpool and in the fifth minute against Huddersfield Town at the King Power Stadium.
The boss concedes it is not good enough and hopes the players can take what they do in training on to the pitch in future.
“We have to respect what we tried to do in training,” he said. “We have a solution but I don’t know why at home often we don’t start well all the time. It seems away it is better with a good start, but at home it is difficult.
“Our first 10 minutes were not enough with the slow tempo, we didn’t break their lines, and we take too many risks, but it is too dangerous and we concede this goal.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
