West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass says the players know they can’t continue their bad habits in defence from last season. The Hammers have made a poor start to the Premier League campaign with a 4-0 drubbing by Liverpool, followed by a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.
Snodgrass, who spent much of last season on loan at Aston Villa, has been impressed with new boss Manuel Pellegrini and knows the manager will not accept the same defending that was on show at the London Stadium last season.
He was quoted by the Evening Standard, saying: “You just can’t defend like that and the boys know that as well.
“I can’t comment on last season because I wasn’t here and I don’t know what happened. I’ve come back with a new manager, his standards and pedigree. I can only take notice of his words and they are that we cannot defend like we did last season.
“I take it that it was quite bad and when you look at the number of goals we conceded, you can see where he’s coming from. Anybody watching the game will see that you can’t defend the way we did and expect to win the game.”
West Ham will have a chance to put things right on Saturday when they make the trip across the capital to face Arsenal.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
