Flying Eagles midfielder Kingsley Sokari has sensationally confirmed interest in his services by Egyptian club, Al Ahly following his exploits at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Sokari scored a goal for Nigeria in the 4-0 win over Korea DPR in the group stages.
The goal was Nigeria's third of the game, a screamer from 25 yards but the skillful Enyimba star was chiefly at fault for the goal Nigeria conceded against Germany in the Round of 16 stage, in a 1-0 defeat.
"Yes, Al Ahly were indeed serious about signing me. Officials of their club were in New Zealand to have the deal wrapped, up but we couldn't actually discuss extensively due to the national commitment," Sokari told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Sokari however exclusively revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com that he is not considering playing on the African continent.
"I want to play in Europe. Al Ahly is undoubtedly the biggest club in recent history in Africa, but I want to play in Europe.
"Playing for a club in a cup competition is the objective. Holland and France fascinate me, but in football, you never know. It could be anywhere.
"I must say I'm happy that Al Ahly want to sign me. I don't want to rule them out yet though, but I have my target prior to the World Cup," Sokari concluded.
