Flying Eagles midfielder Kingsley Sokari has exclusively revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com on Thursday from the team’s hotel in Christchurch, Rydges Hotel, that the coaching crew of the team are battling so hard to console the players following their exit from the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup.
Manu Garba’s side were defeated 1-0 by a more resilient German team in the Round of 16 game at Christchurch Stadium to end Nigeria’s dream of winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
“We are very sorry for this loss to Germany,” the Enyimba midfielder told completesportsnigeria.com.
“We definitely wanted to win but unfortunately our efforts to equalise at least and see what happens later didn’t quite work out.
“Before the game, I believed we could win but I must give kudos to the Germans. They played well. The coaches have been consoling us. I am sad just like my teammates but my spirit is not dampened because we have a great future.”
Some key players in the Flying Eagles squad, with Kingsley Sokari being a key player, is expected to make the grades to the U23 and senior national teams.
