England manager Gareth Southgate will announce his 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia next Wednesday.
According to standard.co.uk, Southgate will submit a 35-man list on Monday before narrowing it to down two days later to the 23 that will travel to the finals.
The former England international will face the media the following day to discuss the squad announcement at Wembley.
Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) have fixed June 4 as the date when all final squads for the tournament must be submitted.
Meanwhle, Liverpool duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez will not be on plane to Russia due to injury.
Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first leg of the Reds’ Champions League semi-final against Roma, while Gomez has undergone ankle surgery on an injury suffered in England’s friendly against Holland in March.
England will warm up for the World Cup with internationals against Nigeria at Wembley on June 2 and Costa Rica at Elland Road in Leeds on June 7.
They kick off their Russia 2018 campaign against Tunisia on June 18 in Volgograd. They will also face Belgium and Panama in Russia.
