Sports Minister Charges Eagles

–Ahead final group F tie with Argentina

As the Super Eagles battle Argentina today in their last group match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Sports Minister and Chairman, National Sports Commission, NSC, Dr. Tammy Danagogo has charged the team to give their all to ensure a respectable result.

The Eagles who are second in the group with four points need only a draw to book their passage to the second round but a win against the Lionel Messi-inspired South American team will see the Eagles top the group and meet the second team in group G.

“I am happy the Eagles put the disappointment of the barren draw against Iran behind them to play their hearts out and win against Bosnia Herzegovina. I want them to double their efforts in the last group match against Argentina. The Argentines are beatable, Iran proved it,” the minister said in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Patrick Omorodion.

Dr. Danagogo added that the Eagles “should display the kind of Nigerian spirit of rugged determination and commitment like they did against the Bosnian team some Nigerians had thought would defeat them. I am happy they are improving with every game.

Nigerian fans, both at home and in Brazil should, keep up the support and continue to pray for the team. The spirit of the players is high now and I believe they will advance in the competition and do us proud. The president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan is happy and hopeful too and as usual will show his appreciation.”
