Springboks’ Performance Forces Erasmus To Change Plans

South Africa coach Rassie Erasmus says he will have to change his plans after Saturday’s 32-19 defeat to Argentina. Erasmus watched his men fall to just their third defeat in 28 Tests against Argentina at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas.

South Africa were heavily fancied to come out on top after sealing a 34-21 victory against the South Americans in Durban earlier this month.

However, it didn’t go to plan and Erasmus admits he will now have to name a strong side for their upcoming clash with Australia as they look to keep their Rugby Championship campaign alive.

Erasmus said: “This was a terrible performance – it was unacceptable and we cannot perform like that in a Springbok jersey.

“We had certain plans that we wanted to try against Australia, but that’s out the window now.
“We have to get back to winning ways again, it’s win at all costs now.

“This puts us back quite a bit. We wanted to win this game and give a few other guys a chance against Australia but we can’t do that now.”
