The club have now confirmed the surgery was a success, but the 24-year-old will now face a period of recovery and he is not expected to return to the first-team fold until the New Year.
“The England international midfielder was diagnosed with appendicitis after contacting our medical staff due to acute abdominal pain,” read a Tottenham statement.
“He received immediate treatment to assess and then remove the appendix. “He will now undergo a period of recovery before commencing rehabilitation and it is expected he will return to training with the squad in January.”
Dier will miss some big games over the festive period, including Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie against north London rivals Arsenal.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
