STOP THIS UGLY DRAMA: Nollywood Stars Edochie, Asiegbu Want NFF Truce

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Nollywood stars Yul Edochie and Ejike Asiegbu hope the ongoing face-off between Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa over the NFF plum job will be resolved in the interest of Nigeria's football.

The Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA) have threatened to ban Nigeria over the Federal High of Jos ruling that Pinnick vacate the position of the NFF boss.

Award-winning actor Edochie, son of Nollywood legend Pete, is a proud supporter of the Super Eagles and has told Completesportsnigeria.com he does not wish to see the game suffer in the country over administrative crisis.

"We must do the right thing to move football forward in Nigeria," Edochie told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"Football is key to the development of the youths in this country. And we all love the game.

"We want to see our Nigeria celebrated in the comity of nations. I want to see the crisis resolved in the best interest of our country."

Former President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Asiegbu who was in South Africa in 2010 to cheer the Super Eagles in the 2010 World Cup said:

"What can I say? Nigeria Football Federation or Associatuion as the case may be is always in one crisis or the other which invariably affects the teams' preparations for international competitions.

"In most cases, because of personal interests of some Nigerians development of the game and individual efforts of our players and athletes have been undermined.

"I hope the Chris Giwa faction must respect the rules of the game and FIFA's orders. Anyway this is not the first time. I believe this will be solved but Nigerians will not forgive both parties if Nigeria is banned. The future of several talented boys and girls could be jeopardised."
