Ligue 1 side Strasbourg are leading two other clubs in the pursuit of Nigerian kid sensation Adeleke Akinyemi.
The French side had representatives at Bordeaux’s Europa League match on Thursday with Ventspils to watch red-hot forward Akinyemi, who scored as his Latvian club lost 2-1 and crashed out.
German club SC Freiburg and Switzerland’s Young Boys are also monitoring the 19-year-old Nigerian, both sending scouts to the Bordeaux clash.
Akinyemi has scored 13 goals in 18 matches in all competitions for Ventspils this term and is undoubtedly the top player in the whole of Latvia at the moment.
Remarkably, the youngster has scored 11 goals in his last 10 matches, including the goal in the Bordeaux clash, which was a Europa League second qualifying round fixture.
The youngster is already on the radar of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, who was in the stands to watch the Bordeaux game and afterwards met with Akinyemi.
