Success Eager To Make EPL Debut

Watford record signing, Isaac Success is eager to make his debut for the Hornets in the English Premier League after being thrilled by the warmth he received at the club, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Success who missed Watford's 3-1 pre-season win over Union Berlin in Austria on Tuesday, was pleased to get some valuable game time with the club's U-21s in a friendly fixture against Chivas the same day.

“I’ve been working really hard at the training ground but it’s been very enjoyable, and I know the work I’m doing now will pay off when the season starts,” the former Granada forward told watfordfc.com

“The fitness people here are great, they’re always pushing me, which is just what every player needs to be ready for a new season.

“I got 15 or 20 minutes in the first two friendlies against Woking and Stevenage, which was good, and to play an hour for the Under-21 team on Tuesday was really important for my fitness.‎

“I’ve watched a lot of Premier League football before and it’s something I want to experience, so the Southampton game can’t come quick enough now.

“We’ve got a lot of work to do before that, but if we keep working like we have been then we’ll be ready for the first game.”

Success also revealed that he wasj fully settled at the club despite being there for two weeks.

“I’ve been here for a couple of weeks now and I have to say, it’s been very easy to settle in, which is important for me in a new country,” he stated.

“It helps that I already knew a few of my teammates – I played with Abdoulaye Doucoure last season and Odion Ighalo is a fellow Nigerian – but everybody’s welcomed me with open arms and I already feel it’s home.

“Watford seems like a great club and I’m excited to be a part of it.”

The former Nigeria U-17 and U-20 star also showered praises on his Italian coach Walter Mazzarri as he looks forward to working with him in the forthcoming campaign.

He said: “I’ve worked with him [Mazzarri] a lot already during my first two weeks and he’s very good, both as a coach and a person,”

“You can tell that from the work that we’ve done on the training pitch. He knows what we need to do to be successful, and he’s shown that at the clubs he’s worked with before Watford."
