Sudan U-20 Star: We’ll Beat Senegal Like We Beat Flying Eagles

Ahead of Sudan's 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Group B opener against Senegal on Monday, star midfielder Ammar Taifour says they will draw inspiration from their elimination of the Nigeria in the qualifiers, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Sudan edged the Flying Eagles on the away goals rule after both legs had ended 5-5.


The Flying Eagles won the first leg 2-1 before losing 4-3 inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, to crash out.


Speaking in the pre-match press conference on cafonline, Taifour stated that Sudan are focused on getting a win against Senegal.


"The players are motivated and are looking forward to a win against Senegal," Taifour said.


"We are also mentally prepared and believe we have the quality. 


"Senegal is a big team just as Nigeria whom we defeated in the qualifiers. Expectations are high of us back in Sudan and we hope to make our country proud by taking the trophy to Sudan."


Sudan will also contend with Cameroon and South Africa in Group B.
