By Bamidele Boluwaji: Nigerian midfielder Sunday Stephen is back in Europe to embark on personal training with a club side in Spain ahead of the American Major League Soccer resumption, reports.

The former Valencia player who now plays for Real Salt Lake in the MLS said he decided to cut short his holiday in Nigeria and travel to Spain where he could train with a club side to keep fit.

“I have to return quickly and start training before our league resumes, as a footballer, you need to be fit so that you can give your best. I called some of my coaches in Spain and they said I could come over to train with them,”,the former Alanyaspor of Turkey midfielder told

“Soon, our league will resume and like I have done in my previous clubs, I want to go back better and that is why I have chosen to train personally ahead of the season.”

“I am impressed with what the Super Eagles did last year, mostly qualifying for the World Cup and a s a Nigerian, I want to work hard to see if I could get a recall to the team for the World Cup,” he added.
