Ahead of Sunday’s match day 14 Glo Premier League clash against Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Sunshine Stars head coach Kenedy Boboye is confident his side can shock their hosts at home.
The log leaders face a daunting task in their bid to hold on to top spot in the Glo Premier League against a Rangers side that has won their last two games, including a win on the road against Warri Wolves last weekend.
The Akure Gunners have fared well in their last two games against Oriental sides. They beat Heartland 3-1 in Owerri on match day 7 and came close to earning a draw against Abia Warriors in Umuahia two weeks ago before succumbing to a 3-2 defeat courtesy of a late Chisom Chikatara penalty.
Boboye told completesportsnigeria.com that they are looking forward to the encounter with high hopes.
“We are well prepared for this weekend’s game against Rangers,” the former Nigeria international told completesportsnigeria.com.
“Our objective is to maintain our position at the top of the table and if we must do that, then we must endeavour to win our games where ever we are playing.
“We have showed what we are capable of doing this season and we want to use this game prove to everyone that we are good enough to win the title.”
