The management of Sunshine Stars of Akure has lifted with immediate effect the indefinite suspension placed on its defender, Kunle Odunlami, for absconding from the team.
The club took the decision following the intervention of some prominent Nigerians from within and outside the country, the club said in a statement signed by their spokesman Wahab Bankole.
The club has also asked the Super Eagles defender to write a letter of apology to the management and also to his colleagues for the embarrassment, pain and loss caused as a result of his actions which contributed to the defeat the team suffered in the hands of Enugu Rangers in a week 14 match at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium.
The club's management has also approved the recommendations of the disciplinary committee set up to look into the possible sanctions to be meted out to the player.
Odumlami is to pay a fine of N2.5m to the club. He is expected to pay the fine within the next 60 days.
Odunlami had abandoned and absconded from Sunshine Stars to undergo pre-contract medical test at Raja Casablanca of Morocco some weeks ago but returned after failing to seal a deal.
