Players of Glo Premier League leaders, Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure, have ended their five days strike after receiving two out of four months salaries owed them by the club, reports completesportsnigeria.com.
The players have boycotted training since returning from their mid-season break on Friday, protesting the non-payment of their salaries and bonuses.
Completesportsnigeria.com reliably gathered from a top official of the club who pleaded anonymity that the players returned to the training ground Wednesday morning after the management of the club paid part of their salaries.
"The players have decided to call off their strike after they were paid two months salaries by the management of the club," the source revealed to completesportsnigeria.com.
"They trained in the morning and will have another session later in the day.
"The management of the club have promised they will get their remaining salaries soon and we hope they can now concentrate on their training ahead of the league resumption this weekend."
Sunshine Stars are away to Taraba United this weekend.
They defeated the Lafia based side 2-1 in the reverse fixture with top scorer Tunde Adeniji scoring both goals.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
