–Super sand Eagles keeper confirms Akure move
Super Sand Eagles goalkeeper, Isah Danladi has confirmed he has finally signed for Sunshine Stars of Akure as the 2014/2015 Glo Premier League kicks off this weekend across the country.
“I can confirm to you right now that I’ll play for Sunshine Stars this season. I’ve signed for them and you can go ahead and tell the World that I said and I’m happy the speculation regarding my future has finally been settled”, Danlami personally called Complete Sports to reveal his career destination.
Danladi played his club football with Sharks last season and was on the eve of a switch to city rivals, Dolphins but that was punctuated as the bulky keeper refused to watch from the sidelines while other teammates battle in the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
“Dolphins were not the only club that sought for my services. My former club, Heartland wanted me back, so also Nasarawa United among others.
“But truth is that I’ve decided where to play next but certainly not Sharks or Dolphins”, he explained then.
Dolphins manager, Stanley Eguma explained why they could not sign Danladi Isah.
“Isah wanted to play for us just like his teammate at Sharks, Christian Pyagbara did.
“But ironically, talks between the two clubs dragged on and the CAF registration period expired for players in the Confederation Cup.
“We tried to hold him back so we can register him if and when we reach the group stage but he refused”.
