FC IfeanyiuUbah goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa is disappointed to see his side lose their second game of the Nigeria Professional Football League Super-4 competition to Rivers United on Friday, but is upbeat the Anambra Warriors will put in a better showing when the season starts, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Anambra Warriors put up a below par showing in their 2-0 defeat to Rivers United in their match-day two fixture at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium Enugu on Friday.
The result put paid to their ambition of winning the competition, having lost their opening fixture 2-1 against Wikki Tourists.
Despite their lucklustre showing in the competition, the former Sunshine Stars shotstopper insisted they will get things right soon.
"We started pre-season two weeks ago and I can say we have not hit top form yet," Ezenwa told Completesportsnigeria.com after the game against Rivers United.
"We are pained with the loss against Rivers United as we come here with the intention of winning the competition.
" I believe things will improve for us before the start of the season as we will work hard to correct all our mistakes."
Kenichi Yatsuhashi's men will face Enugu Rangers in their last game of the NPFL Super-4 competition on Sunday.
