  • A pleasant change; we’re still the underdog in that group. It’ll be the case of David and Goliath.

  • We don’t care about their ranking. Lets just forget about ranking and focus more on World Cup preparations. We can ne ranked 200th in the world I wouldn’t care less.

We were underdog also in 1994 but the team did credibly…I guess with determination and discipline in our approach, they might surmount the underdog tag…What do you think?

    • Luqmanov 3 years ago

Yes you are right….’Determination’ and ‘Discipline’ these are very important and i thing this present team has been successful so far due to their determination and discipline. I hope they will continue to build on these, when the world cup begins in June.

We were not underdog in 1994 we were 5th in the world in 1994

      • Bros, please fact check your claim; we were actually an under-dog team going into the world cup of 1994, we rose to 5th in the world after the world cup, sequel to our eye-catching performances in that tournament.

        It was in 1995 br

      • We weren’t 5th in the world going to the world cup rather we were underdogs but rose through the ranks after our eye catching performances at the mundial.thanks

      • Get your fact right, we were ranked 5th in April 1994, before the world cup so we were not underdogs

We were not underdog in 1994. We had just won the AFCON, but we Were considered dark horse at the time by most American media. That SuperEagles team was viewed as the most Physically built team going to that WorldCup. We were 5th in the world in April 1994, highest ever ranking by an African team. The greatest SuperEagles of all time. This present SuperEagles haven’t won anything yet, but they qualified for the WorldCup in a seemingly impossible group with relative ease. From our two recent friendlies, particularly the game against Poland. I think the SuperEagles will hold their own against any top opposition in Russia. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE#

that doesn’t matter now.. our focus now is how we gonna surprise the world come russia later in the year.
..we gonna archive that via discipline, hard work and teamwork.

  • In 1994 i think Nigeria weren’t underdogs, in June 1994 FIFA RANKING Argentina was ranked 8TH and Nigeria 11th, they were above Greece and Bulgaria
