Two Super Eagles players have expressed their displeasure at the cancellation of Monday’s international friendly against Burkina Faso, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Burkina Faso pulled out of the friendly in London on Monday after seven of their players did not get visas to enter Britain.
One of the players who plays in Belgium told Completesportsnigeria.com in confidence that he was looking forward to the next game after being an unused substitute in Thursday’s clash against Senegal which ended 1-1 at The Hive Stadium.
“Really it was disappointing but I hope we get a team to play on Monday,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
Another player who made his debut in the draw against Senegal also noted that he had hoped to get another chance to prove his class despite being handed a cameo appearance during the encounter.
“Hopefully, I’ll get more game time so that I can truly prove myself,” he said.
“I believe the game would have improved our ranking. Playing against the team that finished third at the Africa Cup of Nations would have been a good test for us.”
