Both countries sit at the top of their respective groups and are close to securing a berth in Cameroon 2019.

The Super Eagles occupy top position in Group E with nine points and need a win from their remaining two games against South Africa and Seychelles to be guaranteed a place in the 2019 AFCON finals.

Uganda who top Group L with 10 points need just a point from their next two games to book their ticket.

The Cranes defeated the Super Eagles 1-0 the last time both teams met in a friendly match on March 25, 2015 at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium with Farouk Miya scoring the winner.

    Why Asaba ?

    • Achi; 3 years ago

In honour of SK, the Big Boss, I suppose. He did a lot for Nigerian football. Remember he helped us lift our 3rd AFCON cup?

@ Jones, Asaba isn’t bad, given the fact that, the Cranes of Uganda have beaten us in Uyo before in same friendly game.

  • Nice.

Super Eagles, please beat South Africa to restore the honor of our football.

    God bless Nigeria.

    Good one

  • Our sub standard pitches will never make us see the best of our Super Eagles at home. Hopefully some work would have been done on the Asaba playing turf before the game.
