Super Eagles Will Wobble, Fumble Under Peseiro At AFCON 2023 –Gara-Gombe

Chairman of Gombe State Athletics Association, Ahmed Shaibu Gara-Gombe has disclosed that the Super Eagles will struggle to make any positive impact under Jose Peserio at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Gara-Gombe made this assertion in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where he criticised the Portuguese tactician’s playing pattern and his poor tactical know-how.

He noted that the senor national team have struggled to impress since he took over and that under Peseiro the team will wobble and fumble in AFCON 2023.

“The reality of the situation is that the Super Eagles are not just ready for this championship. Let us go and keep on trying our cut and paste strategy, our wobble and fumble strategy.

“Let’s go ahead with that. If anything happens, then it’s the intervention of God, not because we are ready or we are prepared for that.

“Being with them [the team], what was the outcome? There was never a time this guy managed this team from the sidelines that we were confident,” he said on the show.

“You and I know. Those days you can sit down and count a team, 11 players for the national team that you can say, ‘Yes, these are good to go’.

“You can sit down and say as soon as we line up before any team in Africa, ‘Yes, Nigeria will overrun them with ease’. You can sit down and say, ‘Okay, this is the tactics that the Super Eagles are playing.

“But today, no. Anybody who does that is just doing that for pleasure but not a reality, a reality.”

Truth is bitter! And again I want the super eagles to crash out very early so they can continue to feel the pain in the sack and ill treatment of GENERAL ROAR

      • MONKEY POST 5 months ago

LMAO.. especially all those forumites here like their Jimmyball I want you guys to keep wallowing in the pain until we get a very good coach better than general roar or until he quits coaching or passed on to the great beyond

      • Monkey Post, Eagles fumble and tumble is not due to how rohr was treated. Birmingham is not suffering because of how they treated the coach sacked Rooney took over from. I heard the same fate happened to Zola who took over from a coach who was doing well too for them years back.

Birmingham are blaming their owners for a bad decision. Who the heck settled for Peserio among all the coaches in the world? Fans? No. Some glasshouse nitwits!

Who expects a miracle from a national team holidaying coach who only has won 6 of 14 matches supervised with the array of talents at his disposal?

His contract should be up in the air in no time. Who progresses backwards?

I don’t wish Eagles well at this tournament. Afcon 2025 is a good opportunity for a reset.

Sao tome conceded more than half of the coach’s 31 goals for. 2 out of 14 matches!

Which well drilled defenses can that team suddenly break down with very tiny midfield and a thankless goalie?

Since the coach has favorite principalities and powers in his squad, expect nothing new!

Rohr is not the issue. Coach has no recognisable pattern after 2 freaking years in spite of glaring loopholes to plug in his team every time.

        • @sly my brother all these coaches you mentioned, non of them went through what general roar went through am sure you know that…

If Rooney n co was given the job of the se and the same ill treatment like general roar, omo they will all run mad…

Just wow! Very absurd statement. You just revealed your true identity. You are definitely not a Nigerian football fan.

    • Monkey Post, is your allegiance to Nigeria or Gernot Rohr?

      • MONKEY POST 5 months ago

@DEO my allegiance is for my country but for now let my country continue to pay for her sins..

        Sorry bro

        • This one you can’t even boldly mention your country, you sure say you be Nigeria this man?

        • Monkey Post 1) failure in the last Afcon and 2) failure to qualify for Qatar world cup not enough punishment for you?

For me, I am just keen and intrigued to see how Peseiro intends to succeed with the same formation that brought about Eguavoen’s failure.

I think we have suffered enough Monkey Post.

Too much suffering no dey full basket.

          • @DEO was the awful pitches that GENERAL ROAR was forced to play on on important games not enough punishment?

Was the 8 months salary he was owed not enough punishment?

Was the slashing down of his salary by half and then paying him in naira not enough punishment?

You should have asked the nff all these then as they were dishing (ill treatment) it out to him…

Can you hear yourself? Your personal beef with Pinnick’s decision to sack GR has eaten deep into you that even under a new administration, you still wish the team falter to sooth your feeble emotion.

You’re are more Ghanaian than Yaw and Self-Made, dudes who love seeing us wobble and fumble in international events, even when that has nothing to do with Ghana.

But then, your wish remains your wish, nothing more. Even if it would come to pass as you strongly desire, it will not mark the end of Super Eagles nor terminate the careers of our players. Soldier go soldier come, barrack remains.

These Eagles will surely fly again, whether you like it or not, when and how I don’t know. The sack of Genot Rohr, no matter how bad it was, imputs no permanent curse on the team and its minders. So wake up from self-deciet, thinking that our dear Super Eagles will forever remain unproductive or eternally doomed, as long as Genot Rohr is alive. I’m sure part of your wishes is for the team to follow your German mentor to the grave when God says he’s old enough to come.

Come rain, come sunshine, I remain my dear Super Eagles fan. God be with them.

We have just about a week to AFCON. Critics, experts,ex-players, charlatans, bushmen are still anslysing and irritating. Can we shut up and watch the football?

Sorry bro! I hate injustice..so let the country through the super eagles keep paying for her sins

@ Papafem, you are true SE fan.

I guess you loved coach Rohr, but you have not let his sack negatively affect your allegiance to the SE.

It’s a shame that some people are praying for the SE to fail so that they can be proved right.

      Very, very pathetic.

      Thank you Papafem.

How many times must you people be told that Monkey Brain is not a Nigerian??

He is a hapless and discombobulated Ghanman!!

I guess though that the wise man is right when he postulates that one can only do what they can do and leave the rest – You can lead a horse to water but never force it to drink – you soreheads don’t want to kill the parasite that is living among you and attacking you from your inside – In fact you are failing or refusing to acknowledge the evil lurking among you and and giving the parasite the greatest satisfaction of his dastardly career and occupation and at the same time showing yourselves to be easy prey for the predator – I on my own account have told you people this fact on too many occasions, I am however deciding to tell you lot for the last and final time –

This Monkey Yansh Brain impostor is exactly that – An impostor a parasite – my theory is that he(it) is either a hapless Ghanain or another poster on here who is masquerading as this Monkey Brain twat – I will not mention any names because I cannot kill the bush-meat and cook it and then spoon feed you it in your mouths – Nah sir! But what I will do is give you another clue – If this Monkey Yansh dude is not a Ghanain (Most probably is) but their is also a very high probability that he(it) is another forumite here – ask yourselves this question – which forumite says LMAO a lot??

Go figure guys – it is either one or the other – but knowing you lot, this high-level coded info will just fly right over most your heads lool

If I were you, I’d be careful how much trust I put in this parasite but at the end of the day, it is really not my own concern – It’s not as if there are any high stakes involved, or state secrets or anything like that – but consider that you are being taken for mugs and y’all are falling for it, not a good look!

Wise-up and don’t be such “sheep to the slaughter” this is a condition “gullibility” and simple mindedness that too many Nigerians suffer from – it is why there is too much disrespect going on, why so many bad things are still happening to Nigerians everywhere – You people need to WAKE UP!

From what I’ve seen of Peseiro so far, I like his enthusiasm. But I’m not sold on his tactics.
However, we do have a few individuals that can make a difference. And sometimes, this individual ability is enough. I’m hoping that this is one of those times.
Of course, winning the trophy is always going to be hard.
What makes it even harder for us is our incompetent, inept administration, NFF ONIGBESE.
I will be happy if we can manage to wobble and fumble to the trophy.
With the trophy in the bag, we can then decide what to do next.

Who is this enemy of progress called gombe or what? Super eagle will play well at Afcon in Jesus name.

  • Goal keeping department:- I remembered some people wanted Nwabili, now he’s here.
We have Bassey, Ajayi, Awaziem, Aina, Osayi-Samuel, Zaidu in defense
We have Iwobi, Onyedika and another man of the people Yusuf in midfield and
Osimhen, Chukwueze, Lookman, Boniface etc in Attack
Who says we can’t challenge for the trophy with these names?
I can see the coach keep inviting back ups (assistants) for the tournament. Even I read our presido has promised to support in making some payments. As a naija fan I just want to support our team though they are not the best in the competition but Zambia wasn’t the best when they won, Greece wasn’t the best when they won European Cup and Denmark was totally unknown when they won European Cup in 1992 but if this Naija team wins, there won’t be too much surprise because on paper, we have players to achieve it. Let’s just relax and enjoy ourselves.
As for Rohr, it was painful when he left but now, he’s standing between my team and a World Cup slot so I see him as my enemy. I don’t care anymore about him.
     Up Super Eagles.

  • Hahahaha nawaooo Oakfield is now monkey post because of fustration

  • @all still doubting my nationality, am a Nigerian that hates injustice period!

And am not Oakfield or whoever..

    Am still me..

    Thanks!
