Super Falcons Star Okobi: I’m Not Disappointed, Ghana Beat Nigeria’s C Team

By James Agberebi: Super Falcons star Ngozi Okobi believes the Black Queens of Ghana’s win against Nigeria in the semi-final of the maiden West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Women’s Cup in Abidjan does not make the Ghanaians superior to the seven-time African champions.
On Thursday the Black Queens defeated the Falcons 5-4 on penalties after regulation time ended 1-1.

Ghana will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final on Saturday.

Also on Saturday, the Falcons will take on Mali in the third-place match.

Okobi, who was in the Falcons squad that won the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Cameroon, posited that Ghana paraded a large part of their first team compared to Nigeria.

“I am not disappointed neither are we bowing to the Black Queens of Ghana. That is a C team (Super Falcons) not even a complete B team that played against almost 90% of the Black Queens A team, also it ended in penalties,” Okobi tweeted on Saturday.

“Up Super Falcons I still remain part of you no matter what.”
