Nigeria’s Supersand Eagles will know their group opponents on Tuesday when the draw for this year’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup finals hold in Nassau, The Bahamas, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
FIFA Instructor and Team Administrator of the Supersand Eagles, Mr. Sunday Okayi, will represent Nigeria at Tuesday’s ceremony inside the Hotel Atlantis, according to a media statement from the Nigerian Football Federation.
Nigeria will make their fifth appearance in the competititon, having featured in the tournament in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011, reaching the quarter finals at their last outing in Ravenna, Italy six years ago.
The Supersand Eagles and Senegal, runners-up and winners of the 2016 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations respectively, will fly Africa’s flag at the tournament while Brazil, Ecuador and Paraguay will represent South America. Hosts The Bahamas qualify automatically, while Tahiti will represent the Oceanian region.
Other countries billed for the draw include Italy, Poland, Portugal and Switzerland while the three remaining finalists will emerge from the Asian qualifying tournament billed to hold from the 4-11 March.
The tournament will be held from 27 April to 7 May.
