Supreme Court Set To Deliver NFF Judgement, Eagles World Cup Plans In Jeopardy

Supreme Court Set To Deliver NFF Judgement, Eagles World Cup Plans In Jeopardy

Nigerians’ hope of seeing the Super Eagles soar high in Russia at the FIFA World Cup in June may be dashed if the Supreme Court sacks the FIFA-recognised Amaju Pinnick led board of the Nigeria Football Federation when it delivers its judgement on Thursday.
Chris Giwa and his board had dragged the current board of the NFF to the Supreme Court to set aside the verdict of the Appeal Court after they had won at the High Court, claiming that the mandate given to them at the Chida Hotel, Abuja by the congress of the NFF in August 2013 was sacrosanct.
They also insist that the Warri election that brought in the Amaju group was held in defiance of a High Court order while asking the Supreme Court to uphold the Chida Hotel election as the defendants cannot gain from disobedience of a court order.
But the defendants have held on to FIFA statutes to argue its case, telling the Supreme Court in their submission that football matters must not be adjudicated in the ordinary court, insisting that the plaintiffs have been banned by the global football-ruling body.
The Supreme Court will decide on Thursday whether to uphold the verdict of Justice Joseph Tur of the Appeal Court in his judgment in 2016 when he held that the discontinuation of the cases on October 30, 2014, which was affirmed by the court stands.

This Giwa man is a serious case oo…
    Still on this matter

  • Zambians fa notify players to get ready for Russia 2018

  • Lost mission for Giwa and his co travellers.

FIFA would disqualify & ban Nigeria from participating at Russia should the SC judgment is given in favour of the challengers. Too bad!
Will it be, Good bye, Russia 2018?

The Supreme Court judges are not stupid like this Chris Giwa of a man. The name of that Appeal court judge Tur looks like a middle belt name. So I smell some nepotism or tribalism here. The Supreme Court judges should by now know that this chap has been banned from football. It is like Sepp Blatter taking FIFA to court. Moreover, these Supreme Court judges should by now know that football matters are not treated in ordinary courts but at the Court of Arbitrary for Sport. I think there is no fear there. Whatever happens, the Russian project will go on unless FIFA ban Nigeria. FIFA are not stupid too for they are aware that it is a banned person that has taken NFF to court. If he wins, Chris Giwa will not be recognized by FIFA and the Supreme court will look like faeces before Nigerians and the world general. Then the federal government will come in and when Chris Giwa is questioned, he will be charged with treason ie someone working against the interest of his own country. It us a delicate case and if care us not taken something bad can happen.

This Giwa guy is a corrupt and anti Nigeria, a Country he is calling his own . In another developing Country, he would have been gone by now. The first Judge and Giwa came from the same local Govt Area, but gave Giwa the verdict which he subsequently relied on, and the judge were obviously bribed to give him the verdict he got then. Hope he will be denied the verdict this time or we are all scrod as a people, and we will be a laughing stock among the comity of Nations through out the World. This is a matter of National security. I want to use the media to appeal to the Federal Attorney General to intervene NOW to withdrew the Case from being adjudicated on in the supreme Court if possible.

It is unhelpful to comment on matters that are already before a court, or to make appeals for judgment to go one way or the other in the press. That can only worsen issues by putting the judge under pressure.

@Ako Amadi. Common sense is what all of us including CSN is advocating here. It is just like you will discuss a case involving you too even if it is already in the court. Not so Mr too know? We are discussing a national issue here. A case before the Supreme Court brought by a man already banned from football. Sepp Blatter suing FIFA on football matter in a regular court instead of the Court of arbitration for Sports. Any court anywhere on earth will simply tell Sepp that ‘you are banned by FIFA and so this case cannot be tried by this court. Have you gone to Court of arbitration for Sports?’ Same treatment should be given to this Giwa man. You are there giving us unwanted advice not to comment. Do you know that the Supreme Court judges or their football loving sons or husband and discuss the matter at home picking information they didn’t know before? Guys dry vex o and no allow us release the vex on you. Know how you say talk.

Bad timing let them stop this mess of a distraction and put Nigeria first after the world cup the dance of shame can resume I hate when some devils still wanna fly in the day after night

  • What really does Chris Giwa want? Why is he putting his own interest above national interest? What does he want to do in the NFF that has not been achieved? Does he want to be a king without subjects, or subjects that will eliminate him?

I think after he loses on Thursday, in addition to FIFA ban, Nigeria should withdraw citizenship from him. Let him go to Benin Republic or Togo to become their football association chairman. I trust the former football-loving FG, they would have been making counter plan B against Giwa. Sometimes, the court is not the only way to win.

  • This “Giwa man ” is a kill joy , why waiting for world cup to draw close before taking this stupid and unnecessary step? This shows that he doesn’t have better things for this country
