Bournemouth youngster Sam Surridge is hoping to top the League Two goalscoring charts during his loan spell with Oldham. The 20-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance for Bournemouth although he has featured in their matchday squad on a couple of occasions, while he has also spent time on loan at Weymouth, Poole Town and Yeovil.
Surridge is currently enjoying a season-long loan at Oldham and has made a flying start to life at Boundary Park, scoring four goals in five League Two appearances.
The frontman is three behind James Norwood in the division’s scoring charts and has set his sights on topping the standings as he looks to showcase his talents to Cherries boss Eddie Howe.
“I want to end up at the top of the league’s goal list,” Surridge told the Oldham Times. “There’s not really a set target but I want to keep on getting on the scoresheet.
“The main thing is to keep winning and – if we’re winning, I’m scoring – so it’s happy days.”
This season is a big one for Surridge as he is out of contract with Bournemouth come the end of the campaign, which means he will have to impress with Oldham if he is to stand any chance of earning a new deal.
