Taiwo Makes HJK Debut, Nwankwo Falls With Academica

Former Super Eagles defender, Taye Taiwo, made his debut for HJK Helsinki in their 1-1 home draw against HIFK on Monday night.

Taiwo who joined HJK Helsinki from Turkish side, Bursaspor, featured throughout the 90 minutes.

Formose Mendy put HJK ahead in the 38th minute before Sinisalo leveled for the visitors on 58 minutes. 

In the Portuguese Primera Liga, Super Eagles invitee, Nwankwo Obiora, was in action for Academica de Coimbra, but couldn’t prevent his side from losing 4-0 at home to Vitoria de Setubal.

Former Flying Eagles skipper, Abduljeleel Ajagun, was an unused substitute for Panathinaikos in their 2-1 away win against Panaitolikos.

And in the English Premier League, Jordan Ibe was introduced in the 63rd minute for new signing, Roberto Firmino, in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates.
