Taiwo Slams Ibrahimovic For ‘I Too Know’ Ego Ahead PSG Vs Chelsea

Former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo believes PSG striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s nervousness in crucial stages of UEFA Champions League has seen him and the respective teams he featured in came short of glory in the UEFA Champions League.

The Sweden international who will become the 14th player to score 50 or more goals in UEFA club competition should he find the net against Chelsea in Wednesday's second leg tie at Stamford Bridge is always obsessed to be the saviour for his team according to the former Nigeria international.

“From the last 16 on, I could sense he was more nervous,” Taiwo who plays for  HJK Helsinki of Finland told L’Equipe.

Taiwo, who played alongside the 34-year-old at AC Milan, says there is a palpable shift in the striker’s mentality when it comes to the latter stages of the competition.

“In fact, Zlatan had an obsession to be the saviour.”

Ibrahimovic who scored the opener in PSG's 2-1 first leg win over Chelsea is yet to lift European club football’s top prize despite winning 12 league titles across four different countries in a glittering career spanning over 17 years.
