This match between Nigeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina will be a turning point only because this match will decide which team is going to finish second. This is going to be a highly interesting match as both teams can be extremely attacking. my advice for eagles is not to loose their focus. they should concentrate on getting the maximum three points without conceding any goal at all. i wish them best of luck

I think Nigeria needs to get more better players, so many players out there plays more than those in the field of play today but they were not given the opportunity, some players in Nigeria are now forming to big to play, expecially Odewingie, he thinks he without him the team is not complete, i like what Stephen Keshi did at the nations cup, he droped players that have already make name, players that form, nd took small boys along, you can see we came back home with the cup, so please, Keshi should wise up

Nigeria can do better if only they can play with a 4.4.2 formation with osasze and moses in front. I believe in the boys. Keshi give them a chance

  • Ajayi Moses Adeniyi 9 years ago

I think Nigeria will grind out a result from the match, all though it is going to be a tough one, one thing I expect the gaffer to do is to drop one of Emenike and Ahmed Musa, and start one of Osaze and Shola Ameobi, the best form of defence is attack, let us not try to stop them from playing their own game, else it backfires, instead let us pay our own game, in that way, we attack and they try to defend, thereby stopping them from attacking. I will go for a 4-3-3 formation. Enyeama, Efe Omeruo Oboabona(if fit)/Yobo Oshaniwa R. Azeez Onazi Mikel Obi V. Moses S. Ameobi O. Osaze. OR 4-4-2. Enyeama, Efe Omeruo Oboabona(if fit)/Yobo Oshaniwa Osaze Onazi Mikel Obi V. Moses. S. Ameobi E. Emenike, with this am sure we will win the encounter.

LESSONS SUPER EAGLES MUST LEARN FROM THE COSTA RICANS.

    1) Big names don’t score goals.
    2) Big clubs don’t play football.
    3) Big coaches don’t lift a team.
    4) Big football history, records, pedigrees and antecedents don’t intimidate the determined and courageous.
    5) Big ball possessions don’t win matches.
    6) Big teams(such as England, Germany, France, Holland) failed during Euro 92 which was won by Denmark who never qualified but was recalled to replace Yugoslavia who were experiencing unrest. Denmark won because they had cohesion and were mindful of being defensive. They enjoyed the flair and creativity brought in by Michael Laudrup and went ahead to defeat the French, Dutch and the Germans who were World Champions.
    7) Big football expectation is the bane of many big teams. Super Eagles were least expected to win the Afcon in 2013 but they were eventual winners. I urge the Super Eagles to suppress the football pressure they might be experiencing and be in Brazil to enjoy playing Naija football style with deep passion and determinations. Remember Nigerians past heroes at Atlanta 1996. They did not win the Olympics because they had better coach with better tactics(Bonfrere failed to qualify us for 2002 World Cup until Shuaibu Amodu came to the rescue) but for sheer passion of playing football for Nigeria, using Naija football style as established by Mathematical Segun Odegbami and his gang.

LESSONS THAT MUST BE LEARNT BY NIGERIAN FANS.

    1) We should be grateful for not losing to the Iranians.
    2) There are no minnows in world football again.
    3) Keshi should be allowed to continue his good works.
    4) The Super Eagles should not be crucified for having a bad day but be appreciated for answering the call of their Father Land.
    5) Super Eagles will fly and soar high again, if only the atmosphere is cool, calm and colourful with bright rays of hope.
    6) Japanese fans cleaned up the stadium where their team had a barren draw with Greece. We could all see them raising their blue waste polythene in support of their team.
    7) And who knows: Stephen Keshi could be another JORGE LUIS PINTO in the making..!

    • thank you so much my brother, you are true football fan with reason and not with sentiment
cheering is the most only morale booster….we wish them luck…let all patriotic nigerians kneel down for a and pray so heaven can release luck on eagles…..eagles go for goal!

  • Oscar 9 years ago

To Super Eagles… U can’t fight a war with what your opponent have, to win a game you have to make the other team play to ur pattern. Not you playing to theirs. That my candid advice. I rest my case…FLY

  • Akinkuoroye Taye 9 years ago

I have the believe that eagle will win today’s match, let keshi just do the write thing by play 4-4-2. Let him play Ozaze & emenike at the front, he shuld not subtitute Moses at all. Moses will play his normal position while Musa will play his normal place also.with that we will win Bosnia.

  • Tunde Animashaun 9 years ago

Nigeria will come out of the match with maximum points, though Bosnia will score a goal, it won’t make any difference for them. Expect a stunning goal from eagles. Verdict 2: 1

  • Fagbore Idowu 9 years ago

The Super Eagles of Nigeria in make or mar encounter against debutant Bosnia Herzegovina will determine if the Eagles is going to soar high in Brazil. The Coach Stephen Keshi’s tutored side must make Nigeria’s previous experience in the tournament count by decision their opponent.

  • Dennis Osheku 9 years ago

I advise not to remove Victor Moses in tight games especially now that we don’t have creative players in the team. I know he’s selfish are times, but you need to let him know that he can not be selfish with the ball and release it on time to his teammates.
Let Emenike know that he need to relax and play his game and do more. The team need to show more determination and play with a lot of energy. Play fast moving ball and use their speed to their advantage.

Use every advantage of counter attack to strike your opponent. Ejike Uzoenyi would be perfect for this. He creates and he’s quick. Please use the wings and tell the wingers to deliver good crosses. Go Super Eagles. Hope we win Bosnia I can’t wait.

i tink super eagle had another last chance now against bosinia a win here second round straight is like nigeria trying to use the world nation cup system i tink nigeria we make us proud today and i tip them 2 0 win

  • Saminu Abass 9 years ago

It ain’t over till it’s over. We didn’t lose the game; we just ran out of time. It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.

For me, winning isn’t something that happens suddenly on the field when the whistle blows and the crowds roar. Winning is something that builds physically and mentally every day that you train and every night that you dream.

Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them — a desire, a dream, a vision.

The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.

  • Gbenga Scopeman 9 years ago

Suffix it to say Nigeria have their qualification hopes in
their hands a the moment. A win against the World Cup
debutantes at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba, places the
reigning African champions on the brink of a second
round berth for the first time in 16 years.
“It will be an exciting game, very different from the game
against Iran, who sat back in the defence.
“It’s a must-win for Nigeria as current African
champions we are aware of the expectations.
“I know the Eagles will make Nigeria proud.”
    Goodluck Guys….

  • Adedeji alaba j 9 years ago

Super should go for goals. And should play as a team.minimise dangerous playback.the defence more proactive..mr kechi should let ozase start d game with with victor moses, musa and emenike.onasi,mikel,azees,omeruwo,oshaniwa,efe.minimise long ball and avoid counter attack.with God we will win.

  • Temitayo Isewon 9 years ago

We should not judge the Eagles by the game against Iran, because we always play better against Europeans’ team. Super Eagles will win tonight match against Bosnia-Herzegovina in as much as Keshi deems it fit to start Osaze and Moses in the wings, Emenike and Ameobi in attack, Mikel and Onazi in the middle and retain the back four with Enyeama in post.
I wish Eagles all the best for tonight game. Up Eagles!

  • Francis Kadiri 9 years ago

THE SUPER EAGLES HAS TO BE BUSINESS LIKE IN THEIR APPROACH TO TODAY’S MATCH, NO COMPLACENCY. THE BOSNIAN TEAM IS BEATABLE. KESHI SHOULD ADOPT THE PACY WING PLAY THAT NIGERIA IS KNOWN FOR.
THE BOSNIANS ARE TALLER, THEREFORE, THE EAGLES SHOULD PAY MOSTLY ON GROUND WITH KEEN ATTENTION ON DZEKO AND CO. THE NEVER SAY DIE ATTITUDE OF THE SUPER EAGLES WILL SEE THEM THROUGH. UP SUPER EAGLES!!!

  • Oluseyi Odunlami 9 years ago

It is very certain that the Super Eagles next game versus Bosnia-Herzegovina will be a tougher one as the two teams crave for a win, so the Super Eagles should look for early goal(s) and then create more chances for more goals as the game progresses while playing for each other defensively especially when they lose the ball to their opponent. Anything short of this could spell doom for the Eagles and give their opponent whose their attack blends well with the midfield a walk over.

  • Olusayo 9 years ago

Eagles need to stay focused and give the match their 100%…which i think should be enough.

    goodluck lads!

  • Wole bello 9 years ago

Eagle need a fighting and commitment spirit with this they will go far

  • Isaac Femi Akinyosoye 9 years ago

Nigeria were incredibly poor in their opener, belying the form they showed during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and failing to open up Iran.

All the good progress Stephen Keshi has made seemed to grind to a halt during that game, as he played a 4-3-3 formation lacking penetration and turned to long-ball, Shola Ameobi-inspired tactics far too soon.

    @stighefootball

The Super Eagles need creativity in the hole, some urgency in midfield and improved play from their full-backs.

You have to say, based on early evidence, Keshi’s side won’t be in a position to trouble BIH’s suspect defence despite the favourable matchup.

    Bosnia and Herzegovina

Safet Susic will have sat his players down at half-time and wondered how to address them; after all, they were 1-0 down but playing the better football against a much-fancied Argentina side.

    @stighefootball

They sacrificed Vedad Ibisevic from the starting XI to make room for an extra midfielder, but in return, Edin Dzeko played poorly and failed to provide the killer instinct in front of goal the Dragons needed.

After Ibisevic’s goal as a substitute it’s likely he’s won his place back, and that means one of Muhamed Besic, Zvjezdan Misimovic or Izet Hajrovic drops out to accommodate him.

    2 Tactical Clashes

    1. Working the Channels

If Bosnia and Herzegovina have a weakness, it’s defence, and they won’t settle as quickly into a flat back four when defending against Nigeria as they did against Argentina.

Sead Kolasinac will likely bomb forward, and Mensur Mujdza will be encouraged to reciprocate from the other flank. In fact, if BIH go winger-less to squeeze in two strikers, they’ll be required to come up and hold the width in attack.

That’s a dream scenario for Nigeria, who have Victor Moses, Emmanuel Emenike and Ahmed Musa to work the channels. There was no room against Iran, but here there’s space to run.

    Drew Hallowell/Getty Images

    2. Matched Up

Dzeko and Ibisevic is a central defensive duo’s nightmare, with the two combining nous, intelligence, power and immense heading ability in the box to score a bucketload of goals.

Kenneth Omeruo is an up-and-coming defender, while Joseph Yobo is firmly at the other end of the scale. There’s a reasonable chance one is too young and the other too young to deal with this dynamic duo.

The Super Eagles weren’t tested defensively by Iran, but Miralem Pjanic’s through balls are sure to give them a headache.

  • Agbabiaka Mosimabale 9 years ago

Today’s match is going to be a different match from what we saw in Nigeria first match: Bosnia is not going to settle to defend like the Iranians, meaning we’ve to defend well, the game is going to open up for us and we can catch them on counter attack, giving that they are susceptible in their defence. Also, I think the eagles are ready to play and put smile on Nigerians faces after the bomb attack on the viewing centre last monday. We’ll be expecting a good match, good luck.

  • Super eagle will fly high 2nite. Fly on top of the table and move to the next round.Bring the cup to our country.

  • Tochukwu 9 years ago

My advise to Super Eagles is that they should be willing to score goals. They should be focused. They should not underrate Bosnia. They should believe in theirself. And they should give their best. They should soar. I wish all Nigerians goodluck.

  • odunuga Olufunmi 9 years ago

Our second match against Bosnia -Herzegovina will be a very difficult match, becuase it is a must win for both teams if they are to remain in the tournament. one major observation is that the super eagles played with any real form of tactics/pattern(which was also opined by the coach of cska Moscow- leonid slotsky).
The notable changes I expect in our second match against bosnia Herzegovina are: keshi should improve the team tactically; he must try to improvise and inculcate new ideas that will suit the team perfectly. Osaze odemwingie should be a starter in the team based on the glimpses of quality he showed when he was brought on in the last match. Ramon azeez is a defensive midfielder not an attacking midfielder(where he plays for his club). Victor moses needs to be psyche up because it seems he has lost that confidence that made his one of the most feared wingers in english football. Emmanuel Emenike needs to be more clinical in front of goal. Eddy onazi & Mikel obi needs to be more composed in the midfield( not giving away passes like they did in the last match). Finally I think the team as a whole needs to be very patient (goals will come).
If all this wrongs are righted I see the team doing well in this world cup.

  • Super eagles prove to us that you are capable, the mighty ones have fall, and average of Nigerian fans don’t have the believe you can make it,Let them know the sky is the limit of eagles.
Keshi and the eagles the the world have rate you down that this match can not be won after loosing to iran. prove us wrong, let Nigerians and Africans be proud of you.GOOD LUCK

  • The inside track for second place in Group F is at stake as Bosnia-Herzegovina meets Nigeria Saturday at Arena Pantanal in Cuiaba, Brazil.I could recalled that during Bosnia 2-1 loss to Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina played Lionel Messi’s squad very tight throughout the match and bested them on quality opportunities with 11 shots on goal to five. Our National team (Nigeria) needed a change of approach in their general performance in order to secure the victory. I wish the Super Eagles Goodluck!

  • Optimista Richards 9 years ago

I for one persoally feels the super eagles of Nigerian will absolutely defeat the Bosnia national team only if they play as a Team and not an Individual display on pitch.
I think OSAZEE, UCHE UCHEMBO & EJIKE UZOENYI should start the super eagles game against Bosnia cox I see those Trio making a huge impact in the Super Eagles encounter with Bosnia.
Up Up Super Eagles 4 Life!!!

Stephen Keshi should do a lot of Psychological work on the players by convincing them that they can do it, infact they have done it before, they can do it again. The tactical formation also matters he retain our traditional 4-4-2 with Mikel Commanding the midfield up front while onazi plays the defensive midfield role. Ejike should pair Mikel instead of Azeez because he’s got surprise shots that cut Bosnia defence unaware. At the back keshi should maintain Ambrose, Yobo, Omerou and Oshiniwa with Omerou covering for Oshiniwa.
At the wing Moses should be at the left wing while Osaze starts at the right wing. Musa may coming layer depending on situations. Emenike should played forward and the sholuld communication between all the department and with this nothing will stop from beating Bonia

  • Animasaun damilola Emmanuel 9 years ago

This match will be a win for we Nigerians.I am urging them to change their tactics because the one will use against Iran didn’t favour us.Am also urging keshi to start Amoebi and Osaze, because both of them are good and experienced strikers.also we should work more on our defence and midfield.Am assuring winning.LET GO SUPER EAGLES.

  • Great Super Eagles 2,Bosnia 0.

  • Abdullahi 9 years ago

The match will be a very open one, both teams cant afford to sit back. In my opinion i think Big Boss should go for 4-4-2. But the players needs to rise up to the occation, discipline with ball will be very key to our success. I expect any of the players call to duty to team up with others and play as a team. But a solution to our lact of penetration in the box of our oponent is to start Osaze and Moses, give them free role to operate side, with great positioning from Emenike and creative football from Ramon Azeez and stability from Mikel, Emeruo no doubt will give a solid sheild to Enyema. Close to certainty victory is ours.
