The first batch of Team Nigeria contingent at the All Africa Games headed for home on Thursday, completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The 60-man contingent were lifted home in a chartered flight through the Maya-Maya International airport, Congo Brazzaville, an official of the National Sports Commission informed completesportsnigeria.com.
“The first batch of contingent left Congo for Nigdria at about 1pm on Thursday.
“They left with the same chartered flight that brought us here to Congo,” the official revealed while refusing to be named because he was not authorised to speak to the media.
He also disclosed that another contingent of about 100 people will arrive Congo on Thursday from Nigeria.
“It’s a case of some leaving, some coming. We are expecting almost about 100 more people from Nigeria on Thursday.
“Arrangements have been made for their coming. Even those who departed Congo for home were settled late Wednesday night,” he added.
Completesportsnigeria.com understands that those leaving Congo are those athletes and officials whose events have been concluded.
They include karate and swimming, amongst others.
