Arsenal and France football legend Thierry Henry will work as an assistant to new Belgium manager Roberto Martinez.
Henry’s appointment was confirmed on Friday by the Belgian FA.
“Honoured to be assistant coach @BelRedDevils. Thanks to Roberto Martinez & the Royal Belgian Football Association. Very excited.Can’t wait,” Henry tweeted to confirm the news on Friday.
Henry had been working as coach of Arsenal’s U-18 side before leaving after Arsene Wenger told him he could not continue in the role unless he quit his punditry job.
Following Henry’s appointment, Martinez who replaced Marc Wilmots, said in a press conference on Friday that he is satisfied with the staff at his disposal as he gets set for the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
