Justin Thomas has revealed he is feeling a “little tightness” in his wrist ahead of the Tour Championship. World number four Thomas, who will try to become the first player to successfully defend his FedExCup title since the play-offs began in 2007, arrived at a news conference in Atlanta with his wrist strapped up.
Initial worries will be about the 25-year-old’s chances of winning the final PGA Tour event of the season, while doubts are also creeping in as to whether he will be at peak condition for the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National.
However, Thomas, who picked up the injury hitting a shot on the 13th hole of the final round of the BMW Championship at Aronimink, says wrapping his wrist up in medical tape is “precautionary”.
“I just kind of tweaked it,” he told reporters at the Tour Championship at East Lake. “Just a little tightness. It probably looks worse than it is. With two big weeks coming up, it’s kind of more precautionary than anything.
“I’d never had an injury before. I’ve never had it happen. It just kind of popped up, and yeah, I took last week off, didn’t hit a ball. I chipped and putted a lot, so my short game feels pretty good.
“But in all honesty, this time of year, it’s nice to take time off. You’re better off being mentally fresh than you are, I would say, having my game physically fresh.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
