Tianjin TEDA manager Jamie Pacheco has neither confirmed nor denied reports linking the club with Nigerian international Brown Ideye from Greek side Olympiacos.
It has been widely reported that the Chinese Super League club Tianjin TEDA have agreed a £10m deal with Olympiakos for the 28-year-old Super Eagles striker.
But Pacheco whose side take on Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League opener this Saturday refused to confirm the news during an interview with sports.enorth.com.cn.
"The current players in the team are my players, the rest I cannot evaluate," he said.
"But one thing, the European news report Chinese football news everyday, including Wayne Rooney to China and the likes, or other renowned players to China, but a lot of information is false. Before the close of the transfer window, there are changes we will know. We wait and see."
Ideye himself has not said anything about the move, still wearing an Olympiacos shirt on his Twitter profile while still proclaiming to be based in Greece.
Olympiacos have not also confirmed the move, although Ideye was dropped from their Europa League squad for their round of 16 tie.
