MFON UDOH (ENYIMBA): For the second month running Mfon Udoh has done enough to be nominated for the Complete Sports Player of the Month.
The Enyimba striker has emerged as one of the country’s hottest players both home and abroad in the past few weeks and he is well worth his place among the elite.
Following up his brilliant performances last month, Udoh continued to score goals and his strikes cemented his place as the Glo Premier League’s top scorer, beating another fierce competitor, Emem Eduok, to second place.
Udoh was the hero when Enyimba defeated champions Kano Pillars to finish second in the league and bag a CAF Champions League ticket. Enyimba had to win the crunch game in Aba to beat off competition for Champions League from Warri Wolves. Udoh delivered big.
The striker bagged a superb brace as the People’s Elephant defeated the champions 3-1 November 16, taking his league tally to 23, the most ever scored in the Nigerian league.
But Udoh did not stop there. Enyimba faced tough cookies Dolphins of Port Harcourt a week later in the Federation Cup final in Lagos. He scored one of the goals as the Aba side retained their trophy with a 2-1 victory.
Added to his involvement in the Super Eagles squads that faced Congo and South Africa in (ultimately unsuccessful) Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Udoh had a superb November.
IKECHUKWU UCHE (VILLARREAL, SPAIN): Could this be third time lucky for Ikechukwu Uche? The Villarreal striker is getting his third Complete Sports Player of the Month this month after being nominated in January and May. He is yet to win.
Although the Super Eagles eventually failed to scale the AFCON hurdle, the return of Uche to the squad lifted spirits initially.
After having been left out since the AFCON triumph in 2013 due to a spat with coach Stephen Keshi, Uche returned for his Super Eagles game with a bang.
He turned out a magnificent performance in Pointe Noire, Congo, where the Eagles faced a win-or-stay-home clash with the Red Devils.
Uche was up to the task as he not only gave the Congo defence a torrid time with his clever touches, especially when the Eagles woke up in the second half, he also scored the first goal in a 2-0 win.
He showed nerves of steel when taking the penalty that opened the scoring, and the Eagles went on to get the result they needed.
Although he did not score as the Eagles crashed out due to a 2-2 draw with South Africa, he went back to scoring ways with his club.
Two weeks after that unfortunate elimination, Uche was on the score sheets for Villarreal as they defeated Cordoba 2-0, scoring the second goal after coming on as a substitute.
ANTHONY UJAH (COLOGNE, GERMANY): Like the other nominees for November, this is not Anthony Ujah’s first nomination.
The striker was nominated for August but lost out to Obafemi Martins.
Ujah was in fine form in November, scoring twice for struggling Cologne in four matches.
He opened his November account on the eighth when he scored Cologne’s third goal in their stirring 4-3 win at Hoffenheim. He had also been involved in the previous game, coming on as a 72nd minute substitute, but Cologne lost at home to Freiburg.
Ujah scored in the next game, but it was not enough for Cologne. They lost 2-1 at home to Hertha Berlin on 22 November with Ujah scoring his side’s only game.
Ujah started Cologne’s last game in November, although he could not do much as they lost 5-1 at Bayer Leverkusen.
Ujah had a decent return of two goals in four matches in November.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
