Tottenham Hotspur recorded their third straight English Premier League win, defeating Swansea 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday.
Swansea’s former striker Fernando Llorente rose higher than the home side’s defence to head home Christian Eriksen’s cross past Lukasz Fabianski in the 12th minute of the encounter.
Dele Alli sealed the win in the second half with a rebound in the 89th minute of the game.
Spurs dominated possession in the first half and but were unlucky not to have doubled their lead with Alli and Eriksen both coming close.
The defeat was Carlos Carvalhal’s first since he took charge.

The win was also the first for Roy Hodgson’s men in 2018 after they held Manchester City to a goalless draw at Selhurst Park two days ago.
Shane Long gave Southampton the lead in the 17th minute, his first in 36 games for club and country, but second half goals from James McArthur and Luka Milivojevic earned Palace a fifth win of the season.
Crystal Palace are now 14th in the EPL log with 22 points from 22 games.
At the Olympic Stadium, West Ham United came from a goal down to defeat West Bromwich Albion 2-1. Andy Carroll scored a brace in the second half to cancel out James McClean’s first half strike in the 30th minute.
