Denmark coach Age Hareide has apologised to Terriers boss David Wagner for suggesting Mathias Jorgensen could play for a bigger club. During the international break, Hareide said his Denmark international defender is good enough to play for a bigger club in the Premier League.

He told Fyens: “I definitely think he can take a step up to a bigger Premier League club. If any managers asked me, I would recommend they buy him if he is allowed to leave Huddersfield.”
Wagner admitted he was “disappointed and maybe angry” when he read the comments of the experienced former Norway and Malmo boss.
“We all together know it wasn’t his place to speak about this,” said the Town head coach.
“But he has spoken with (Huddersfield sporting director) Olaf (Rebbe) and he called me as well and apologised.
“He didn’t want to say it how he said it at this moment and he knows this is not his business, as it is not my business to speak and judge how big Denmark is compared to other football nations.”
