Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke was on David Wagner’s wanted list at Huddersfield Town but the Reds decided to keep hold of him. Solanke is one of a number of youngsters pushing themselves forward at Anfield and he has excelled for England through the youth ranks into the Under-21s, but at the same time he has found it difficult to get first-team action with the Reds.
Wagner was hoping he could take the striker on loan for the season but Jurgen Klopp has all but promised Solanke some time on the field in the first team and would not allow him to move.
Terriers boss Wagner may revisit the move in the new year when the window opens again although much will depend on how Montpellier striker Isaac Mbenza gets on after he joined on loan in August.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
