Training Complex Upgrade Revealed

Huddersfield have announced plans to invest up to £20million in the redevelopment of their Canalside training complex. The first stage of redevelopment includes a new floodlit, undersoil-heated pitch before work starts on new buildings.

The redevelopment will provide first-team players with “state-of-the-art” facilities, the club said, including a hydrotherapy suite, new changing rooms, gymnasiums, medical treatment areas, an analysis theatre, a new media suite, plus office and dining spaces for staff.

“The redevelopment represents a major investment in the club’s facilities and the community, with an estimated 15million to 20million committed to the project by chairman Dean Hoyle and the board of directors,” the club revealed on their official website.

“The new plans, which are timetabled to be completed in time for the 2020/21 pre-season, will create a new level of elite sports environment for Huddersfield Town’s first team and academy.”

The club’s chief executive Julian Winter added: “This represents a very significant investment from the chairman and the football club in turning PPG Canalside into an elite sports environment.

“We’re a club that prides itself on developing players and this state-of-the-art training complex will be a huge asset to the technical staff in that goal.”

Huddersfield are currently enjoying their second season in the Premier League and, after finishing 16th last term, sit 17th in the standings with just two points from their first four games.
