Super Eagles and FK Haugesund defender William Troost-Ekong has been nominated for Defender of the Year award for 2016 in the Norwegian Eliteserien top division.
Troost-Ekong's nomination was confirmed on FK Haugesund's official website on Tuesday.
Other categories include Best Goalkeeper, Best Midfielder and Best Striker.
Also there is an award for Best Coach and Best Referee.
"The series is nearing its end and the Norwegian Football Association (NFF), Norwegian Toppfotball (NTF) and Adult Women (SKF) invite people to vote on which players, coaches and referees who have been the best in their field this year.
"FK Haugesund William Troost-Ekong is nominated for the 'Year defender'," the club wrote on their official website.
The deadline for voting is Sunday, 30 October 2016.
Since joining Haugesund on loan from Gent in 2015, Troost-Ekong has been featuring regularly for the team.
The Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medalist has scored three goals in 23 appearances for Haugesund this season.
He was also outstanding for the Super Eagles in their 2-1 away win against Zambia in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
