By James Agberebi: Nigeria defender William Troost-Ekong received his first red card for Bursaspor whose winless run since the resumption of the Turkish Super Lig continued with a 5-0 away thrashing at the hands of leaders Galatasaray on Friday.
Troost-Ekong was shown a straight red card in the 38th minute in a game in which his Super Eagles teammates Mikel Agu and Shehu Abdullahi were also in action for Bursaspor.
A hat-trick from Bafetimbi Gomis (11th, 72nd, 90th minutes) and a goal each from Garry Rodriguez (42nd minute) and Serdar Aziz (49th minute) moved Galatasaray to top spot on 47 points in the league table.
Bursaspor are now 12th on 27 points in the 18-team first division league.
The defeat means Bursaspor are now winless in their last six league games (four defeats, two draws).
Their last league win was a 3-0 away victory against Konyaspor in December 2017.
