By Adeboye Amosu: Super Eagles trio William Troost-Ekong, Shehu Abdullahi and Mikel Agu will now play under a new coach at Turkish club Bursaspor after the club announced the sacking of head coach Paul Le Guen on Tuesday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The club took the decision following the team’s poor run of form in recent weeks.
“Negotiations were made with all the proposals we made regarding the mutual termination of the contract with the coach Paul Le Guen, which began yesterday evening and continue today,” read a statement on Bursaspor’s official website on Tuesday.
“In this respect, the contract with Paul Le Guen and the foreign assistants was terminated unilaterally by us under the special clause on the unilateral termination of the contract.”
Le Guen’s last game in charge of Bursaspor was Sunday’s 1-0 home loss to Kasimpasa.
The Frenchman was once heavily linked with the Super Eagles head coach position.
Bursaspor sit in the 13th in position in the Turkish Premier League table, five points outside the relegation zone.
